What I Think This Means:
APEC in Peru, where Xi Jinping meets Trump. Deal’s half-baked already China saves face with “framework” language, but concedes REE flows and tech carve-outs. U.S. plants “boots” (investors) in Asian mines. Media’ll spin it as “truce,” but it’s conquest bundled in legalese.
Long game: Expect more “pauses” on tariffs for compliant nations (India, Brazil next?). China scrambles for countermeasures, but with U.S. allies locking in alternatives, Beijing’s isolation grows.
Risks? Short-term inflation spikes, market jitters.
The Upside? American resurgence jobs in processing, tech independence, and a world where “Make America Great Again” means remaking the world economy.
