Al-Sistani’s office announces its expectations on the first day of Eid al-Fitr

The office of the supreme Shiite cleric in Iraq, Ali al-Sistani in Najaf, expected that the crescent of the Shawwal month will be seen next Thursday with the naked eye, and in light of this, next Friday will be the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

According to the booklet of the crescent times issued by the office, according to what was stated by the Abbasid shrine site, it is expected that the crescent of the month of Shawwal will be on the evening of Thursday (30 Ramadan 1442 AH) corresponding to (May 13, 2021 AD) at the skyline of the holy city of Najaf at sunset at 6:51 pm It also follows:

Age is 44 hours and 47 minutes.

Height from the horizon is 17 degrees, 3 2 minutes.

The duration of stay after sunset is 1 hour and 33 minutes.

– The proportion of the illuminated section is 2.39%.

In this case it is expected to be seen very loud and clear.

It is also expected that the crescent will be on the evening of Wednesday (29 Ramadan 1442 AH) corresponding to (May 12, 2021 AD) at 6:50 as follows:

Age is 20 hours and 47 minutes.

– The height above the horizon is 6 degrees 59 minutes.

Duration of stay after sunset is 38 minutes.

– The proportion of the illuminated section is 0.52%.

In this case, it is not expected that the crescent will be seen with the naked eye.

It is noteworthy that it was stated in the introduction to the pamphlet: “These calculations do not represent the opinion of the religious reference, but are merely astronomical predictions, because the beginning of the lunar months depends on the legitimacy of the sighting of the crescent moon.
