Without getting into the metaphysical aspects of this NDA controversy (apologies to Parisse), I would like to present my very practical and down-to-earth reason for just not giving a hoot whether an NDA is for 90 days, 9,000 days or asked for at all.
Nowhere have I found anything relating to the QFS that would prevent someone in our litigation happy society from deciding to sue me just because they find I have funds. Remember, it has been proven you can sue a ham sandwich and win.
A judgement against me would be a legal debt and therefore due and payable within the guidelines of the QFS as I understand them.
In order to protect the future of those I hope to serve, I have no intention of EVER telling anyone how much money I have. This is not fear, just common sense. Clever people solve problems but a wise man avoids problems.
My funds are no one’s business save my own.
Perhaps bragging to others is part of the old paradigm where having the most money was a status symbol, an indirect indication of ‘power’ and a real ego boost. Fortunately, it seems we are moving to a paradigm where people are revered for themselves as sovereigns and not for an artificial score in dollars, cattle, factories or antique autos.
My ego is not so weak that it needs to be propped up by my bank account, thanks.
They say that the one who dies with the most toys ‘wins.’
When I leave this world (no rush on that), I do not want to be remembered for having had the most toys but for having done good for others. And, even if I leave completely unnoticed, I will have the satisfaction of knowing I helped others. To me, this is a life well-lived.
However, this could all be thwarted in an instant if I talk about my bank accounts.
Well, it’s lunch time. Ham sandwich anyone?
George
