Yes it’s TOMORROW, so why email now? Because tomorrow may never come for some.

Yes, tomorrow is Father’s Day and yes many of you don’t know I am a Father. Only in the sense of the word of without my contribution to the equation there would be two less humans on the planet. (those that I know of anyway, there may be more out there, yes I was in the Navy, yes I traveled the world, and no I did not abstain from those kinds of activities from which children are a result of). But that’s not the point. I have two great kids. We’re not in touch and I actually thank God for that as I wouldn’t want them ashamed of their Dad. They know I am out here, they have my number and anytime they want to call and say hi, their call is welcome. But we don’t talk and that’s fine and I wish them well in their lives and pray all is good with them. For those wondering, my daughter will be turning 40, and my son is in his mid to late 20’s. I’ve met her, I’ve exchanged emails with him. As I said, it’s all good. God works in mysterious ways.

For those of you in IDC land who are Father’s, I wish you a Happy Father’s Day in advance. For you Ladies out there who had to be BOTH in your families, I wish you also a Happy Father’s Day and salute your dedication to your families and to their well-being. God bless you always.

For all of you who have brought kids into this world, I pray that they are in touch with you, that you spend tomorrow with them and enjoy them while you are here. I look back on Father’s days when I was not in contact with my Dad with reflection and sadness, but also knowing those times when we weren’t together we were still connected by the bond that he was my Father and I his son in this world. I’m blessed to have been great friends with my Dad, and am honored to have been the last person to speak with him the day that he died. I will never, ever forget that God granted me the gift of the “see you later” with my Father as he took his last breaths here on this planet.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dad’s in the IDC family. If you’re traveling, I pray that your family reaches out to you and connects. If you’re in the military, THANK YOU for your SERVICE & GOD BLESS YOU, and for all those Dads who’ve been distanced from their loved ones by whatever means, my prayers are with you that you take time and love you for being a Dad and for helping the human race advance.

God Bless you this day and always.
