A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the former parliament, Sherwan Mirza, revealed on Saturday, the government’s insistence on maintaining the current exchange rate of the dollar for another period.

Mirza said in an interview with “Mawazine News” that “there is a decision that accompanied the government’s decision to change the dollar exchange rate for people with limited income, such as increasing salaries and inclusion of families with social care and increasing the vocabulary of the ration card, as well as supporting employees in accordance with the initiative of the Central Bank to purchase a plot of land or house or car.

He pointed out that “the government has not implemented any action or decision except to change the exchange rate,” stressing that “keeping this price remains at least for another 3 years.”   LINK

Anti-corruption recovers more than 13 billion dinars from “Key Card” that evaded its payment to Al-Rasheed Bank

An informed source stated on Sunday, that billions of dinars were recovered from the K-Card company in favor of a government bank, which the company evaded paying under an administrative pretext.

The source told Shafak News Agency; The Anti-Corruption and Important Crimes Committee was able to recover an amount (13,629,416,118 thirteen billion six hundred and twenty-nine million four hundred and sixteen thousand one hundred and eighteen Iraqi dinars) from the company (Key Card) for the value of the profit dues of Al-Rasheed Bank for the years 2014 upwards”. 

The source added; That “the restoration took place through the investigative procedures carried out by this committee after the aforementioned company had seized these profits and did not give the bank only a small part of it at the end of each year on the pretext that the final audits of profits had not been completed.”

And in Aylon 2020, an Iraqi security force arrested (Bahaa Abdul-Hussein Abdul-Hadi), the director of the K-Card company, at Baghdad International Airport while he was trying to escape out of Iraq.

On January 24, 2021, the Anti-Corruption Court in Iraq issued a four-year prison sentence against the director of Key Card, a private sector company.

The Karkh Anti-Corruption Criminal Court returned, on July 8, 2021, to sentence Bahaa Abdel-Hussein Abdel-Hadi, Afrah Mohamed Abdel-Ali and Walaa Abdel-Gawad Hussein, employees of the “Key Card” company, to severe imprisonment for three years as a result of their involvement in embezzling a large sum of money.  LINK

Iraq Files International Lawsuits To Recover The Smuggled Iraqi Antiquities

The Director General of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Laith Majid Hussein revealed, on Sunday, that many lawsuits have been filed in order to recover antiquities and property that were smuggled from Iraq after 2003.

Hussein said in a statement reported by Al-Sabah newspaper and reviewed, it is reported that he was among the delegation of Iraq headed by the Minister of Culture Hassan Nazim, who held official meetings with his French and Emirati counterparts, noting that “Iraq will continue its great effort to recover the last piece of antiquities that escaped from it after the events of 2003, no Especially after winning the membership of the Intergovernmental Council for the Promotion of the Return of Cultural Property to its Country of Origin.

He added that “Iraq has previously recovered 17,000 antiquities and the last Gilgamesh wave from the United States of America, while the recovery department in the Commission is working to return all Iraqi antiquities and property located abroad.”

Hussein pointed out that “the United States is part of the countries that possess Iraqi antiquities, and there are some countries that cooperate quickly and return the antiquities to it, while there is reluctance in some of them, which calls for taking some measures and legal cases.”   LINK

During the past week, the increase in Iraq’s oil exports to America

The US Energy Information Administration announced, on Sunday, that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States increased during the past week.

The administration said in a report seen by Mawazine News, that “the average US imports of crude oil during the past week from nine countries amounted to 5.555 million barrels per day, an increase of 113 thousand barrels per day compared to the previous week, which amounted to 5.442 million barrels per day.”

She added, “America imported crude oil from Iraq at a rate of 245,000 barrels per day during the past week, higher than the previous week, in which the average exports amounted to 42,000 barrels per day,” noting that “most of America’s oil revenues during the past week came from Canada, at a rate of 42,000 barrels per day.” 3.572 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico, whose imports amounted to 537,000 barrels per day, followed by Saudi Arabia, whose imports amounted to 424,000 barrels per day, and Ecuador, with a quantity of 284,000 barrels per day.  LINK

I think I’ll take this one with a grain of salt. The former parliament has not much weight or anything to say about current circumstances..

We all now there is a digital transformation that is on going in the world and that includes Iraq.

They even have multi currency cards in line for to better serve the locals and those they choose outside their borders.

For to have international relationships with currency in the digital world the Dinar will need to have it’s REER (Real Effective Exchange Rate) in place imo..

That is not going to be three years from now. The CBI has not come this far for that.. Nope!!! ~ MM
