US lawmakers intend to withhold financial aid from Iraq because of its relationship with Iran

American media reported that Republicans in the US Congress are seeking to reduce funding to the United Nations, in addition to cutting American aid to Lebanon and Iraq, noting that the Republican Study Committee, the largest conservative grouping in Congress, intends to submit a budget proposal Fiscal year 2023 to include “banning US aid from reaching regimes doing business with Iran in the Middle East.”
And the “Washington War Beacon” website revealed that the Congressional Regional Security Committee is moving to codify legislation, which aims to “cut off taxpayer aid to the Iraqi Ministries of Interior and Defense for certain reasons.” LINK
