The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced today, Sunday, that the government is working on a daily basis to complete the country’s budget.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of, that “Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Farhad Nimatullah Hussein, received today the Deputy British Ambassador to Baghdad, Serena Stone, and her accompanying delegation.”

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers stressed, “the depth of the historical relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom,” pointing out that “there is a long history of fruitful cooperation in many important files between the governments of the two friendly countries.”

He continued, “The new government is working seriously and with great interest to implement the government program put forward by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani, which included important files, most notably combating c--------n, services, investment, fighting t-------m, human rights, and addressing outstanding issues with the Kurdistan Regional Government, and other files.” included in the government programme. He added, “The government is working on a daily basis to complete the country’s general budget as soon as possible, as well as files for improving basic services and the Iraqi economic situation,” noting that “there is an unprecedented interest by the prime minister in the human rights file.”

For her part, Deputy British Ambassador Serena Stone welcomed “the formation of the new government and the Prime Minister’s move to appoint an adviser to him for human rights, as he is very important at the local level and the international community,” stressing her desire “for the return of British companies to work in Iraq, and to provide support in all its forms and in various fields, especially in the areas of technical support for e-government, and the enactment of some laws are important.”
