Dinarland Highlights – 1.18.23

There is no “800#”.  That’s stupid…take your credit card, turn it around, there’s your 800# for the bank.  Call them and ask them if they are exchanging the Iraqi dinar.  Don’t do it now.  You know better than that.

[Iraq boots-on-the-ground report]

FIREFLY: Bank friend said don’t worry…they’re just practicing the float.  It’s probably going to go back to 1180 at first but don’t worry.  Watch it go from 1 to 1 and then a float should begin.  Let’s watch for the move to 1180 or close to that and see from there.

FIREFLY: The CBI is still talking that the exchange rate will soon return to normal.

A new announcement by the Central Bank on the exchange rate of the dollar

The bank’s advisor, Ihsan Al-Yasiri, said in a press statement today, Wednesday, that: ‘The rise in the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar is a result of the development of an electronic platform to ensure that the dollar reaches directly to the people who benefit from it without going through additional episodes.’

Here is an older article…

The Central bank announces the imminent introductions of large quantities of small denominations of the currency

…a lot of folks out there believe the RV won’t happen until the LD’s are released. 4-5 years ago the Iraqi budget showed receipts where they had spent big money with DeLaRue to print lower denominations. We had pictures of contracts for those back then. So lower denominations are done and created…This article will give you an idea of how ready Iraq is …they are sitting in preparation for this. This article is from 2018.  So they have been prepared since at least 2018 for this revaluation.

[My Banking Contact at Wells Fargo Says The RV Exchange Process Will be in full mode by Feb 1.]

that would exactly fit with what most of my banking contacts are telling me right now. So I believe we have to go before then so it’s in full swing by the 1st.

The CBI will have to make an exchange rate change…They’ve said they were going to redenominate their currency to match the region and we expect that to happen relatively soon.  They publicly stated they may be doing a 20K note but we believe it’s not the truth because there’s no other countries in the region that use 20k notes.  We believe that the redenomination that the central bank has told us they were going to do will be part of the plan of the project to delete the zeros off the exchange rate and go into a new international world.

Iraqi banks have had to comply with certain criteria of the SWIFT International Transfer System in order to access their foreign reserves. This foreign reserve is $100 billion is held at the U.S. federal reserve.  You can see the U.S. is playing a part in helping Iraq to grow stronger financially.

There is no new exchange rate. At least not for the time being.  What Iraq is trying to do now is provide stability with the exchange rate.  Until Iraq diversifies their economy, increases GDP there will be no change in the exchange rate.

Certainly in the next couple days, maybe more. We should be moving into the position of setting appointments and getting our exchanges started...Now one little side note here, There will be toll free numbers…if anybody doesn’t know that by now and are saying something different they really don’t understand what the heck’s going on…Most of the banks are very quiet right now…No news is good news…So I’m excited about it, guys. I’m very excited… I feel we’re finally there…
