…The issues of the recent past contention about the budget was all centered around the amount of oil proceeds that would go to Kurdistan. This being now resolved, they now are faced with another issue of the debt ceiling. So, the cuts begin. This is what they are working on now… they are now telling us the budget law will be ready for voting during the next two weeks, and it will be included on the parliament’s agenda in the third week of this month of May.

FIREFLY: CBI governor spoke about the street rate. He said it is unreal – do not believe in it and that bank covers the official rate of 1320. He spoke a lot about the parallel rate. He spoke a lot about this but…we were left confused on exactly what he was trying to say to us.
Article:
“Parliamentary Finance expects the date of stabilization of the dollar price at the official price”
Quote:
“We are sure that after the approval of the budget law, there will be a match between the official price and the parallel price.”
LIKE WE TOLD YOU THEY KNOW THE DATE!
FIREFLY: Sudani still saying hold on to dinar that our dinar is going to be stronger than the dollar. Telling us hold on.
FRANK: Every freaking day…Tell Sudani you can only hold on so much longer.

“Parliamentary finance suggests when the dollar price will stabilize at the official price”
As much as they talk about this in the news there’s obviously still some concern about the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar. The difference between the official rate and the parallel rate is slightly off but it could be a lot closer. There’s still enough margin…that the “bad guys” can still make a pretty good profit if you’re dealing with large amounts of dinars verses dollars…what they’re predicting is once the budget is approved and implemented then you’ll see the official rate and the parallel rate equal out…

“The Central Bank announces the launch of the banking supervision reporting system“
This new system may seem like another boring news story but I assure you this announcement is pure gold. The new system will help the Central Bank of Iraq know instantly the financial status of banks and non-banking financial institutions approved by the Central Bank of Iraq…

…The 1300 range..does not benefit us..I think this still plays out for the remainder of year..they always said the best time is beginning of year, we are now 5 months in..IMO we are still here for awhile…

{CBI’s private bank meeting minutes continued}
[5. Introduction of notes and coins was given.]
The date of the new small categories and coins is a reality. It’s a fact. IMO the citizens of Iraq are learning about what we’re telling you right now. They’re learning about it and you’re going to see the articles as they talk about all these subjects [In the coming weeks].
