Iraq is currently working with JP Morgan in facilitating trade in the US dollar.
“…US bank’s willingness to support a number of Iraqi banks in financing foreign trade operations in the US dollar.”
Iraq has come a long way in combating money laundering, t-------t financing, and the adoption of International Standards regarding money transfers.
In order for this protocol to be implemented, the FEDNOW International Payment System would need to be in play.
Iraq has until the end of the first week of July to complete their budget votes. This will enable them to join forces with the new FEDNOW.
