Why is “Reno” so SKOOKUM in Dinar-Land?
That question may, also, be a statement. My point is; I don’t know, but I have a strong theory. I must explain my reasoning before we find comprehension. Bear with me.
Isaiah 18 is different than every other chapter in the Bible. It makes no sense to most. As we enter this journey of Chapter 18, keep in mind that Reno has several small Native American Reservations very near it. Some may be adjoining Reno. Buckle up; here goes.
My father was a brilliant man and a scholar of Bible and history. Many of my ideas are from him. He couldn’t pave the road so we had a smooth ride, but he sure blazed the trail so we wouldn’t get lost.
This chapter is different than any other I have found. Take it slow and think it through. My comments are in BLUE. V.1. Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: 2. That sendeth ambassadors by the sea (Nowhere in that region where this was written did they send ambassadors by the sea. It was basically land travel.) a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning higherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled! (Scattered and peeled – point to ponder, the American Indians were certainly a scattered bunch of tribes and peeled; they do not usually have strong facial hair – peeled ). (Terra-Earth) (Terrible – yes, they are/were a fierce earthly people). (A nation meted out and trodden down – this is the first area surveyed using the North Star as an “anchor” and America has been “walked out”. Places in China have never, to mans knowing, been touched by the foot of man.) (Whose land the rivers have spoiled – this land is well divided by rivers, sort of quartered.)
3. When he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye. (Does much need to be said about that? When America says something the world stops to listen).
7. In that time shall the present be brought unto the Lord of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, the mount Zion.

O.K., now here’s where the BIG QUESTION comes in. Forgive me for making the statement, but neither you nor I are qualified to give a present to our Lord. Look at it side – ways, up – side – down, backwards, any way you wish, and we are not qualified to give a present to our Father.
Logic and anticipated thoughts follow.
How nice of you. I thought the same thing too. We can give Him our time, sweat, prayers, tears, children, live for Him, die for Him, everything imaginable, but it still is not a present. At our very best we are still unworthy servants.
I wonder if the “present” might be a ways, or a means, to liberate the Children of the Most High from s-----y.
Well, “We” the People of America are a “wee” little People. In politics, we are the lease and the easiest to manipulate and over-ride. Just remember, when Christ, our Lord, said, “When you do it to the least of these, you’ve done it unto Me.”
Here, please read it: Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 N---d, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or n---d, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. And, Proverbs 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
Points to ponder.
