Iraq and Romania discuss raising the level of economic and trade relations between them

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Bucharest, Bakr Ahmed Al-Jaf, met with the Romanian Minister of Energy, Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Lucien Londros, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Economy, Rizvan Percalescu, and a number of representatives of investment companies, including the Business Center RR company that operates In the field of writing and implementing investment projects with European funding, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.

A statement by the ministry, which was received by Earth News, stated, “The meeting discussed ways to raise the level of economic and trade relations between the two countries, and Ambassador Al-Jaf invested in the meeting to highlight the relentless efforts made by the Iraqi government to create opportunities for foreign investment in Iraq while providing all means of support and facilities, perhaps the most important of which are the fields of industry Oil, gas and renewable energy

And the possibility of joint investment in this field, in addition to finding new outlets for the sale of Iraqi oil in the world,” stressing that “Iraq is looking forward and with interest to invest in global expertise in the field of oil exploration with its high daily oil production, as dry transport requests Iraqi merchants and investors regarding facilitating the mechanism for granting their entry visa to Romanian territory by preparing a draft memorandum of understanding in this regard, while proceeding with the signing of the energy memorandum between the two ministries and its entry into force.

For his part, Londros affirmed “his country’s readiness and serious desire for Romania to enter the Iraqi markets in all fields, and to open new horizons for joint cooperation represented in the field of building schools, hospitals and infrastructure.”   link
