Wells Fargo has recently issued a series of warnings about the challenges and risks that lie ahead. According to Wells Fargo, the U.S. economy will face a moderate slowdown in the first half of 2024, as higher interest rates and inflation will weigh on consumer spending and business investment. The bank also predicts that its net interest income, a key source of revenue, will decline by 7% to 9% this year as depositors will seek higher returns elsewhere. Wells Fargo’s cautious stance contrasts with some of its peers, who have more bullish forecasts for 2024.
