Hello Danlboon,
I just read your post about 800 numbers.
There are some factors about call rooms that you seem to be lacking knowledge of at the time of writing.
One 800 number can be used for input to a huge call room with 100 or 1,000 or more people working in it. The phone lines routers in the call room would be programmed to roll over to the next available person in the call center. i.e. If line one is busy it will roll over to line two and so on all the way to line 100 or through 1,000 or more.
There will no doubt be multiple call centers across the country.
There isn’t much need for an 800 number these days. Most people have free long distance calling on their service plan.
I hope this helps dispel the idea that there would be one phone line coming into the call center. Many, MANY lines come in. The calls will go to the next available person there to help via a router.
