We Are The Bigger Economy People:

Colombia is not one of the United States’ top trading partners. Its share of U.S. exports is relatively minor, so a 50% tariff on American goods there barely registers as a financial sting. The U.S. economy simply won’t lose sleep over it. Imagine a Colombian store selling a popular American brand of jeans for $100. After a 50% tariff, those jeans now cost $150.

Coffee Is A Option Not A Necessity For Americans

Listen a U.S. coffee importer paying $10 per sack of Colombian beans. After a new Trump tariff, the price jumps to $15. Americans might gripe about pricier lattes, but for Colombia where coffee exports to the U.S. are a huge deal sales could nosedive. That extra cost is a tiny pinch for the U.S. but a big blow to Colombia’s economy. We can drink orange juice. Tea. Apple juice. Milk. Or we can just import coffee from Hawaii. Or other regions. We really do not need them.
