“I’m wondering if my tax preparer for the last few years, a former IRS auditor, has been receiving incentives from IRS or government over the years. Reason: This year we had a rollover on a 1099r and she was telling us we had to pay taxes on part of it ($23k extra taxes) during our 4/7/25 appt even though it was rolled over directly into an I-A. She was fear mongering that we had to pay the taxes and unless we got proof, she would not take it off our tax obligation. Next day she was hateful about hubby dropping off paperwork to remove rollover so much that I mentioned income taxes not legal as 16th amendment never ratified by Congress. She then told me she would not be preparing our taxes. I asked if she was firing us and she said yes. I responded, “really? Thank you. That tells me a lot.”
