The United States will establish price floor system for critical minerals. Big news. The global scramble for continues…

I have been documenting China’s mineral strategy for my entire career. Today, the United States is playing catch-up… beginning to mirror those same playbook in the name of national security. Late? Yes. But better late than irrelevant. The West’s perception of mining is about to change.

China spent years quietly stockpiling copper, aluminum, zinc… then expanded the system in 2024 to include even more critical minerals. Today? The United States has started doing the same. The truth is obvious: These minerals are the physical foundation of civilization.

You cannot reindustrialize.
You cannot electrify.
You cannot secure your future.

Without minerals from trusted sources. That gap… Between ambition and reality is the opportunity. That’s why resources are TRUE power.

Countries represented at United States Critical Minerals Ministerial:

– United States
– Canada
– United Kingdom
– France
– Germany
– Italy
– Japan
– Australia
– New Zealand
– South Korea
– India
– European Union
+ more.

More than 50 countries in total. Scramble…

I remember having the legendary Ron Paul on for a conversation… before gold c----t the mainstream’s attention. An icon and a truth-teller. My work allows me to sit down with people who were early and, most importantly, honest. This is quite a moment, @RonPaul. The entire world is finally watching gold. Watch this epic exchange between Bernanke and Dr. Paul.

The United States Treasury Secretary says the Federal Reserve lacks accountability and has lost public trust. The keyword in this: “Trust.”

Treasury Secretary Bessent says there are rumours that China is developing digital assets not backed by the yuan. Don’t think too hard… I discussed China’s potential to leverage gold within its financial system with @judyshel. The United States should be doing the same.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent addresses rumors that China is building digital assets to challenge the American financial system which could include gold. And yes, @judyshel is right there in the background. These are transformational times…

China & Gold. From my convo with Judy:

BREAKING NEWS: CHINA’S CENTRAL BANK EXTENDED ITS GOLD BUYING SPREE FOR A 15TH MONTH IN JANUARY

The world continues to stockpile.

“The country’s gold holdings rose to 74.19 million fine troy ounces by the end of January…”

The United States Treasury Secretary is warning of unruly Chinese trading behind gold price swings. Pierre Lassonde nailed it:

Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent: “A country does not have sovereignty if we don’t have control of our critical minerals, don’t have control of our steel production, and our industrial base.” Very true… The world is learning.

BREAKING NEWS: CHINESE OFFICIALS HAVE URGED BANKS TO LIMIT PURCHASES OF US GOVERNMENT BONDS AND INSTRUCTED THOSE WITH HIGH EXPOSURE TO PARE DOWN THEIR POSITIONS

You don’t say?

“Chinese regulators have advised financial institutions to rein in their holdings of US Treasuries…”

For years people said it was “just diversification.” It’s not. China has been steadily stepping away from U.S. Treasuries… and stepping into gold. Now banks are being nudged to reduce exposure too. This is getting interesting…

The mining environment has fundamentally changed. There was a time when Western miners had to beg the Street to finance strategic projects. Now? In the United States, we are seeing the Federal government step in as a backstop… not for speculation, but for national security.

The United States has quietly built around 1 million tonnes of copper stockpiles… the LARGEST in decades.

• Comex inventories up 5x year over year
• Highest levels since 1989
• 7 months of U.S. demand now sitting in warehouses

The country is positioning for a structural copper deficit. The glue…

China’s export restrictions on critical minerals have changed the game. Western governments aren’t reacting, they are scrambling. When mainstream capital realizes that select companies will be backstopped, financed, and fast-tracked to bring supply online… The repricing will not be gradual. It will be v-----t.

BREAKING NEWS: THE WORLD’S BIGGEST NICKEL MINE IS SET TO HAVE ITS OUTPUT SLASHED BY THE INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT

Watch this space. Commodities are becoming serious leverage.

“Nickel prices jumped on Wednesday…”

BREAKING NEWS: CONGO SAYS IT WOULD SEEK OTHER PARTNERS IF THE UNITED STATES MINERALS FRAMEWORK FAILS

Congo is among the top 5 copper producers. Something to follow…

The rush…

You can debate policy.
You can debate valuations.
You can debate narratives.
But you cannot debate geology

The next economies won’t be built on ideas… they will be built by the periodic table. That is the foundation. Most people don’t see it yet.

China’s Treasury holdings are at their lowest level since 2008. China is now urging banks to cut exposure as well. India has reduced its holdings, too. Meanwhile, both are accumulating gold. Less paper. More metal.

My friend Judy Shelton is being discussed by the mainstream for a comeback. She has never left. When the system is fragile and trust is breaking down, you bring in real thinkers… Good as gold. @judyshel
