Iraq and the U.S. halting USD claim-
There is real pressure being applied.
The U.S. Treasury has been targeting IRGC influence within Iraq’s financial and banking system — that part is accurate, and it’s been documented for months.
But headlines claiming the U.S. is “halting dollar flows” to Iraq are where the narrative gets distorted.
That is not new, and it is not tied to Iraq’s monetary policy or exchange rate.
We’ve already seen the Central Bank of Iraq publicly deny similar claims around “dollar restrictions” and transaction halts.
This is targeted geopolitical pressure—not a currency event.
