Crazy hypothetical for VES
If Venezuela became the 51st US state:
The Venezuelan bolívar would be replaced by the USD as the sole official currency.
US Constitution (Article I) gives Congress exclusive power to coin money — states can’t issue their own.
Bolívars get a fixed exchange window for USD, then they’re fully demonetized.
