The world is watching a signature in Switzerland on Friday. The move that actually matters for the dinar is a law going quiet in Baghdad.

The loud half
The G7 gave the cameras a family photo and Trump repeating that the deal with Iran is done. On Friday the formal signature lands in Switzerland. Oil fell to a 3-month low under 76 dollars a barrel, and the first Iranian tankers are already crossing a line a US blockade held for 100 days.
The quiet half
Iraq’s oil and gas law, the HCL, has sat d**d since 2007. This week the pieces moved at once:
• The revenue split – Baghdad and Erbil shook hands on how to divide the oil money; a customs delegation is wiring up the new system; parliament’s next sitting is lined up to take the law.
• Maliki – the former premier who guarded the old money is reported losing his post and his immunity. The man who kept the law buried for 19 years, suddenly chargeable.
• The cleanup – a fraud network raided in Ohio, charges in Minneapolis, and DOGE walking Treasury’s payment system until the ghost payees surfaced on their own.
• The clock – the Iraq-Turkey pipeline treaty lapses July 27. A record 45 percent of central banks plan to buy more gold. The Bank of Japan lifted its rate to 1 percent, the highest since 1995.
