Dinarland Highlights – 8.7.26

…we know that forex rates usually show up on a Wednesday or a Sunday night…Now that would translate to new rates on bank screens and redemption center screens, as well.  I do have three different sources that are saying almost the same thing…if this does not go …Wednesday, the fifth…then we’re looking at the eighth or ninth, which is Saturday the eighth or Sunday the ninth this weekend…three of our sources, all three separate are saying about where we are right now…

Article:
“AL-ZAYDI AND ERDOGAN AGREE TO BEGIN IMPLEMENTING THE “DEVELOPMENT ROAD” AND TO ORGANIZE MEETINGS OF THE “WATER COMMITTEE”

Quote:
“Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed on Tuesday evening to begin implementing the “Strategic Development Road” project…”

…meetings with the neighboring country of Turkey are underway which is a vital partner to have for this project, in fact MAJOR partner. It is looking VERY promising that Turkey will invest and assist. I have to say this – did the recent trip to Turkey made by President Trump to see Erdogan have anything to do with this?  …it all ties together for peace in the middle east..If there is peace our chances for an RV go up substantially.

I am sure that you guys have seen the pictures going around about the new money counters at CHASE…I just so happened to be at an appointment a few blocks from my CHASE Private Client branch...I went in and deposited some cash. And this machine was sitting right there behind the teller. I asked about it and her eyes lit right up. She was very excited about it. She didn’t know that much about it but she allowed me to take pictures…In the bottom right corner is VND. There was no IQD or IDR listed...I came home and then asked @grok for some details on it…

“The machine is a Giesecke+Devrient (G+D / GD) ProNote 1.5, a compact table-top banknote processing system (money/bill counter and sorter).”

It allegedly can be programmed for any currency.

We saw two articles that said the completed formed government is what allows Iraq to enact the major reforms…A completed government is going to happen very close to the timing of the rate change…I personally think once they complete the cabinet, they’ll change the rate within days of that.  They’ll be very close to each other.

They have money to be able to pay all their other bills and payments.  Isn’t that interesting?  Another thing too, there’s been times in the past they haven’t been able to pay salaries, but did they ever put this level of an emphasis on it?  No. This time they’re putting a massive emphasis on not being able to pay the salary. Sometimes you have to look at the uniqueness of things, things that are ironic that haven’t happened before…

Back in April, Washington blocked its cash shipments to Iraq to force Baghdad’s hand on the militias. This week the plane was reloaded with $500 million. Nobody freezes half a billion dollars as punishment and then quietly releases unless they got what they want. Somewhere between April and August, Baghdad did the thing Washington asked of them.  Meanwhile the salaries are late, parliament is being dragged in on its day off, the street dollar is at its widest gap in weeks, and the US Senate is headed for an extra long weekend. ICYMI, Nixon closed the gold window on a Sunday night. 55 years ago. Keep one eye open on this weekend.

There’s only one option for the monetary reform of the Iraqi dinar, raise the value of the exchange rate and add value to it…

Iraq is facing a cash shortage because it is having trouble exporting its oil through the Straight of Hormuz… Many government workers have not received their July salaries…Iraq depends on oil for about 90% of it’s government revenue…Because going through the Straight of Hormuz has been disrupted Iraq’s oil exports have dropped sharply.

The VND will remain weak for a very long time. Whybecause the country competes with China for mfg contracts.

Once I know what bank and branch I’m going to, I’m only taking a very little bit, maybe two 25,000 notes.  I’m going to see how the process is handled…Once I feel confident they can handle a larger volume, then I’ll go back…I will most likely do it over a period of a few days…
