Iraqi Minister finance has begun preparing 2027 federal budget. Also, the grants and borrowing law is set for its first reading in the parliament this starting week. And the parliament agreed to pass the budget as soon as possible.
No more handing money willy nilly.
Tight hold to the budget… no more c********n.
Iraq is changing its budgeting system so that government ministries will get money based on what they actually achieve, instead of simply receiving money every year regardless of results.

In simple terms, the government wants to set clear goals, measure whether ministries accomplish them, and reward or adjust funding based on performance, making government spending more accountable and efficient.
There are proposals that have emerged in parliamentary discussions inside the Council of Representatives amid the broader debate on public finances and monetary reform Monetary reform.
One of the proposal was deleting zeros:
