Iraq Orders New Banknotes

By Reset Intelligence | @EXIT_FIAT

Iraqi lawmakers say the central bank has finalized designs for a new banknote series: roughly 7.5 billion notes, printed across 4 countries.

The same day, Washington published its Iran designation sheet, Iran’s rial hit a record low, and Syria came off the terrorism list after 47 years.

The denial posted before the evidence

On Monday evening in Baghdad, the government’s spokesman told reporters no decision had been made to remove the zeros from the dinar. Within the hour, a member of parliament’s finance committee confirmed the government intends to do exactly that. An hour after him came the detail neither man led with: the Central Bank of Iraq has finalized designs for a new series of banknotes and plans to produce 7.5 billion of them.

What Monday put on the record

The note order – 7.5 billion notes, printed in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Australia, at a stated cost of 250 billion dinars. The UK and Australia are new additions to speed up the process.

The target – 8 to 10 trillion dinars in undeclared cash sitting outside the banking system, per the finance committee.

Operation Economic Outcast – Treasury designated nearly 60 entities, individuals and vessels across digital assets, gold, technology, aviation and shipping.

Iran’s rial – a record 2.02 million to the dollar, crossing 200,000 tomans for the first time.

Syria – formally removed from the state sponsors of terrorism list after 47 years.

The 2027 budget – set for parliament by September 15, with the Kurdistan Region already filing its claim at 14.1%.

That is the short version, and every item above is public record. The part that matters is the connection: why the denial came first, what the production order tells you about how far along this is, and what Kuwait’s 1991 note exchange says about how fast these operations move once the counters open. That analysis is in today’s full briefing.
