“THE CENTRAL BANK CONFIRMS ITS VAULTS ARE FULL OF IRAQI DINARS”
Hasn’t the CBI been telling us for years, and especially recently, that nearly 80-90% of the issued currency (3 zero notes) are outside the banking system? So what is this article all about then? …Is the CBI not in the banking system?…Are they talking about the newer lower denominations yet to be issued? It would have to be or else this is a gross contradiction of the past news. I think they are the lower denominations.

…we’re in a good position to get this started. And we have good sources that are bringing this, and we know that certain things are complete, and certain things are yet to be done.

They did not do the devaluation until after the US troops were fully out of Iraq. I look at the devaluation more as a short-term economic tool to do a few simple tasks in the short term. I don’t look at this as a long-term step. I don’t think it’ll be in place more than a month…
Question:
“When all the millions were made off the Kuwaiti dinar, who covered the payout?”
Jeff: With Kuwait you had to go there and exchange it physically within the country of Kuwait. You could not exchange it within the country of the United States. You had to get on a plane and physically go there to buy it too.

Iraq’s oil is flowing again… Baghdad is selling its oil again at close to the pace it sold before the war…The oil minister says exports are above 3.4 million barrels a day this month, up from about 3 million in September. On October 8 Baghdad said the closed Strait of Hormuz had choked its oil exports. That was its reason for moving the IQD to 1,500…The cut was made to protect Iraq’s dollar reserves from the oil shock. This month, the oil is flowing again.
How long will you have to exchange your IQD? Iraq’s 2003 swap ran for months. Kuwait’s 1991 swap ran the same way. The CBI sets the window when it announces. Have your receipts and your bank ready, and the length of the window will not matter.

It has been speculated and argued by numerous dinar people that they’re sending the budget back to get revised because they’re working on a new rate. Is that true? It seems very plausible. No one can confirm or deny that information. That’s why this is a speculative investment. All we can do is look at the actions Iraq is taking…not so much at what they’re saying, and then try to draw some type of conclusion from that. Does this mean when the budget is submitted to parliament it is going to have the new rate? It seems that would make logical sense, but we don’t know…
You get people that are going to comment saying, ‘We’re not going to have to pay taxes. The IRS is going to be abolished – bla, blah blah.’ I hope that’s the case. But as of right now that is not the case. We have to deal in absolutes. We’re not dealing in hypotheticals or living in a dream world. As of right now there’s going be a tax liability associated with this. People will say, currency isn’t taxed. When you have a massive gain on a currency it will be a taxable event…I’m setting aside 40% just for tax. I would rather be sad than sorry…Consult with your CPA, your tax attorney when this happens. They’re going to tell you the best options on what to do…

We are monitoring the situation…

We saw where the budget was sent back to the COM to be adjusted. That’s when the rumor started… People were jumping the gun. They’re thinking it went back because it’s going to be a brand new rate. No…That’s not the case. It went back to be readjusted at 1500 because…it was already set aside at 1310. It went back to the Council of Ministers to be voted on and adjusted to the new rate of 1500…People are jumping the gun thinking it’s going to the COM because it’s going to be a brand new rate…There is a new rate and it’s 1500.

The US Treasury lifted restrictions on Iraqi exchange companies after they met the CBI standards …Obviously there’s been a tone that’s shifted. Instead of sanctioning banks they’re lifting sanctions.

This is how we know the Iraqi people want a higher valued currency…The category of people that hold up the country is the small business men and women. They employ over 60% of the Americans in the United States…and represent 45% of the GDP…Iraq’s decision to devalue its currency is helping the government deal with serious financial crisis but it is creating major problems for businesses and ordinary citizens… Consumers are facing higher prices because Iraq imports many essential products. A weaker dinar makes imported food, medicine and other goods more expensive…The Iraqi people want the IQD to be worth a lot more than 1,500 to $1.00…
