“My Deliverer” – IDC Musical Thought – 5.18.21

193

Psalm 27:11-14
“Teach me Your way, O Lord;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.
Do not turn me over to the desire
of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.

I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.”

Ecclesiastes 9:11-12, 17; 12:14
[9:11] “I have seen something else under the sun:
The race is not to the swift
or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
or wealth to the brilliant
or favor to the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.

[9:12] Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come:
As fish are caught in a cruel net,
or birds are taken in a snare,
so men are trapped by evil times,
that fall unexpectedly upon them.

[9:17] The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded
than the shouts of a ruler of fools.

[12:14] For God will bring every
deed into judgement,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.”
