Well here we are.

Still sitting on the sidelines.

Watching the ebb and flows, the victories and defeats of the championship match that spans an eternity.

And yet the coach has never even glanced at us.  He’s never even considered putting us in. Or if he has, he hides it well.

The clock is winding down and the opponent is winning, and winning big.  An epic loss looks almost inevitable.

Why won’t he put us in?  Why won’t he call our number?

For it’s Coach who trained us from the beginning.  He knows what we can do.  He’s seen it.  He knows what’s in our hearts.  He knows the skills we possess, which makes ignoring us all the more confusing.

Why won’t he put us in the game?

Are we his secret weapon?  The jaws of defeat are looming large, so what’s he waiting for?

We just want a chance.  A chance to help the team.  A chance to show what we can do with the skills the Coach taught us himself.

Please Coach, put us in the game.

Victory will be ours.
