Nader From The Mid East

Everybody’s asking me if they can send money to Iraq with Apple Pay or a cash app.  Tell you the truth I didn’t try it and didn’t try it in any country.  I gotta try it to see.  I never sent money with cash app to another country or Apple…We’re gonna try tonight and I’ll let you know…I know I can send money with Western Union.  I can send money bank transfer.  Yes, I can do that.  Apps I’ve never tried so I gotta try it…Give me a couple days and I’ll let you know.  I know it’s [dinar] international for sure.  My friend told me and I saw 2 articles too.

Bankers are scrambling this morning with final preparations…they believe we are about to see it over the next day or two.  Some Iraq news. “Iraqi cabinet approves the budget bill for 2023-2025 and sends to parliament”  So they are covering 3 years. It has made it out of the cabinet and gone to the parliament …Now parliament needs to pass it. This is huge news for us.

IMO now we’re down to a matter of days.  It is not soon.  It is not next week.  I think it is this week. [for a new rate and new small category note articles] …this is amazing what’s happened with this monetary reform…

Question:
What will the REER be?”

That’s the Real Effective Exchange Rate of the Iraqi dinar and it’s no 1300 to 1.  That’s ridiculous. So what is the REER When we went there in 2003 every dinar was $3.22.  When you add inflation factors to it 2 decades later 1 to 1 is an insult.  At least catch up to the Middle East – $3.40…somewhere in that ballpark…

Iraq’s central FX receivers rose to $96 ben, prime minister says”

We already know the Iraqi government has over 85 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves…Iraq uses the U.S. Federal Reserve as a piggy bank.

Nothing in this world would make me happier than to wake up tomorrow and find out that they did change the rate to $3 or whatever the hell it is that people keep saying…and me be wrong…I’d come on here…apologizing, telling everybody how wrong I was…

MarkZ & Militia Man

MilitiaMan: …There is always some good news out there. One of the things that caught my eyes is a recent visit from the Ayatollah Al Sistani. He had a few words to say about the Iraqi currency. He was basically reassuring the citizens that they can now trade it and sell around the world with other currencies…I know there are people with contracts that do business with the country of Iraq and are excited.

MarkZ: I have contractors over there that work building infrastructure and they are excited.

MilitiaMan: They should be…Some of the contracts I know have a 30 day timeline and some have a 7 day timeline. I know of one with a 30 day timeline that ends about Mar 20th…a week from today.  So we will see how that works.

MarkZ: I have one contractor who got a partial payment on a 7 day contract.

MilitiaMan: The one I know got a partial payout as well. With expectation of the final payment on the 20th of March.

MarkZ: To me this is huge. The partial payment was NOT at the current rate of the dinar. I am confident that the numbers are changing and they know what they are.

MilitiaMan: I believe that too …and they are de-dollarizing…and will only use the dinar. They have been talking about that for weeks…On Mar 6th they sent out messages to their citizens reminding them that their currency is going to be stronger. What they mean by “stronger” is still to be determined , and they are talking about releasing the lower notes that will mirror the denominations of other countries…and you would need a stronger dinar to warrant that. That’s a big thing.
