The minimum wage in Venezuela is 0.27 dollar.
A guy who worked for the old regime in Venezuela named Diosdado Cabello exposed that Venezuela wants to increase the minimum wage to 1000 US dollar.
“The official minimum wage in Venezuela has remained frozen at 130 Bolívares per month since March 2022—valued at 0.27 Dollar at the official exchange rate (as of April 2026).
In recent statements made toward the end of April 2026, Diosdado Cabello—First Vice President of the PSUV and current Minister of Interior and Justice—questioned the feasibility of setting a minimum wage of $1,000 in Venezuela.
Cabello argued that such demands amount to easy “rhetoric,” but are financially unsustainable within the current economic context.
Key points of Cabello’s stance (April 2026):
Rejection of the $1,000 increase: He deemed proposals for such a high base salary unfeasible, asking, “Where am I supposed to get the money to sustain it?”
Inflation and unbacked currency: He warned that raising wages without real backing (through the issuance of unbacked currency) would trigger hyperinflation and economic collapse.

A “responsible” increase: He maintained that the wage adjustment—scheduled to be announced on May 1, 2026—must be “responsible” and based on actual resources, not on debt.
Sanctions as an obstacle: He reiterated that international sanctions have reduced the country’s revenue, making significant wage increases difficult.
These statements were made in the run-up to May 1st—a date on which the Maduro administration typically announces wage adjustments—following a period in which the basic minimum wage had been frozen since March 2022.
The SOB doesn’t know there is something called RV.
That’s a huge increase.
The rate might be so sweet.
