The world is rough. The world is challenging. The world is cold. Getting through this tough terrain and coming out with all your faculties in order should be what defines you. But sometimes many are too broken to properly appreciate what it took to make it to the summit.
Recognizing that many who accompanied you did not make it with you but gave you support along the way can be bitter sweet. Survivors guilt can eat away at what should be seen as a victory. In that sense you almost have to summon the strength to even celebrate.
You ask why you? This question often comes from those who never considered themselves worthy of any praise, love, or respect. So making it in life seems you are going against a divine judgment of who you personally considered worthy of what you were not supposed to achieve.
The whole time you placed your bet on someone else to get there before you. And you sit there pondering what you could have possibly done to out perform someone who you thought had everything it took to make it to the next level. Because you started out with so little. Here you are holding the crown.
Heavy is the head that wears it right?
