INDIA CASH-DRAIN WATCH
The Reserve Bank of India is pulling surplus rupees out of the system — close to $20 billion — while it tightens control over bank liquidity and the rupee.
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Bankers say RBI FX operations, dollar-rupee swaps, spot dollar sales, bond sales and reverse repos have absorbed nearly $20 billion of excess rupee cash.
Surplus liquidity in the banking system has dropped by more than half from the high recorded earlier this month.
The central bank has also completed a 1 trillion-rupee net bond sale, the biggest annual net sale in more than a decade, and markets are still looking for the next absorption step.
GLOBAL RESET WATCH:
India’s move shows large central banks are no longer relying on interest rates alone. They are using several instruments at once to manage cash, currencies and stability. FX swaps now sit at the centre of that toolkit, connecting the rupee market, bank liquidity and the government-bond market.
WHY IT MATTERS TO CURRENCY HOLDERS:
India is a working case of a major emerging economy actively steering liquidity, foreign-exchange pressure and capital flows. That is not proof of an immediate currency revaluation. It is proof that the plumbing of money and FX markets is still being rebuilt.

REMEMBER:
The real signal is not the headline dollar figure.
It is that central banks are changing the tools they use to manage currencies, liquidity and financial stability as the global system evolves.
RUMOR SAFETY REMINDER
Draining surplus cash is not the same as a guaranteed reset or revaluation.
Track the official operations, policy choices and market data — and let the evidence accumulate.
