IRAQ CABINET — ONE-PACKAGE PLAN
WHAT THE REPORT SAYS
Shafaq News reports that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi wants the remaining vacant ministries filled in a single package, including Interior and Defense.
The same proposal would also cover deputy prime-minister posts, with the aim of stopping another fight over one-by-one nominations.
WHAT CAN BE CONFIRMED:
On May 14, parliament approved Al-Zaidi’s government and ministerial program, while votes on nine remaining portfolios were delayed.
The unfinished cabinet is still on the agenda.
On September 28, Iraq’s presidencies met in Baghdad and discussed political stability and government work, including the need to complete the cabinet.
TIMING:
The Shafaq report says the cabinet is expected to be completed after Sovereignty Day ceremonies.
That is a reported expectation — not confirmation that all nine ministers have been approved.
