GOLD DID NOT RESTORE THE (FIAT) DOLLAR

Facts hold: Fed FEDS Note 3 Sep 2026; statutory gold price $42.2222/oz; notes not redeemable.

GOLD DID NOT RESTORE THE DOLLAR

Overview:

A 3 September 2026 Fed research note says gold’s market-value share of official reserves climbed. That is a price-and-legacy-holdings story.

Treasury still monetises gold to the Fed with certificates booked at $42.2222 an ounce.

Federal Reserve notes are not redeemable in gold or silver.

No convertibility calendar exists.

Why currency holders should care

1 — Valuation, not a new standard
The jump is mostly higher gold prices plus old Bretton Woods stockpiles.
It is not proof the dollar was put back on gold.

2 — Certificates are ledger entries
Gold certificates are Treasury bookkeeping against bullion at the statutory par.
They do not give the public a gold window.

3 — Talk is not a program
Revaluation, gold-linked bonds, or “codes” are commentary.
They are not a Treasury or Fed operating program.

Bottom line

People can debate future policy. Current law is a fiat dollar.

Official sources give no redemption date.

31 U.S.C. § 5119

Gold’s market value rose.

The statutory book price did not. Until Congress changes 31 U.S.C. § 5119, a Federal Reserve note is still lawful money — not a gold claim.
